• Fluency Disorders:
  Students take this course for 3 credit hours. They learn about the assessment and treatment of stuttering/fluency disorders. Several different treatment approaches are discussed, in addition to theories on the nature of stuttering.
• Dysphagia:
  In this course, the process of normal and disordered swallowing (Dysphagia) is discussed. Students learn about the phases of swallowing and the difficulties that can arise at various stages (ex: oral stage, or pharyngeal state). Assessment and treatment of dysphagia is taught during this online course for 2 credit hours.

Path to Licensure

Upon graduation from the Masters degree program, students will have completed the academic and clinical requirements necessary for Nebraska State licensure in Speech-Language Pathology. Graduates are also prepared to pursue the Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) in Speech Language Pathology from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).
